Sharon's Experience
MY STORY
My name is Deirdre Lobo, and I am so excited to be able to help students unleash their voice in order to build confidence and expression. I come from an artistic background with my mother having been an Opera Singer. So you can imagine - I grew up in her shadow. As a result when it came to performing in front of people I was very shy and went into my shell till the age of 13 years. I understand this having gone through it, and not having the opportunities in India in the 70s to enroll in programs such as the one I have designed to help build confidence.
Years later in the United States, I was directing the musical "Annie" and a student was just not getting into the character she was playing. I for the first time found myself as director working with her for 1 hour prior to performance, which I never normally do. When the show began, she became the character. She taught me a lesson - with determination, and hard-work extraordinary outcomes are possible.
The many experiences in my life and career, especially the experiences I have shared with you, have empowered me to make extraordinary changes in the lives of others, helping them believe in themselves, and achieve the unthinkable! I know there are many of you out there who would like extraordinary outcomes for yourself, and I have designed this Masterclass for just that purpose.

THE STUDIO CLASS

Regular weekly classes focusing on the musical, or performance aspects of singing.

You will go in depth with your songs, monologues, etc. required to sing, or speak soulfully, expressively, elegantly, and beautifully.
THE TECHNIQUE CLASS

Work weekly on breath work and other speaking warmups for actors and voice over artists.

Focus on singing or speaking with clarity, elegance, and effortlessness.

Work on sustaining the voice in rehearsals without damaging your vocal cords.

Meet
DEIRDRE LOBO
Of Indian origin, now based in Colorado, USA, acclaimed International Concert Artist, Vocal Coach & Consultant, Deirdre Lobo comes from an extremely artistic family. She is winner of the GRAND PRIZE in the Messiah Soloist Competition, San Diego, California (Dec 4, 2011), and SECOND PRIZE in the Barry Alexander International Vocal Competition, New York (Dec 19, 2011).
A versatile artist, Deirdre has internationally performed close to 100+ concerts worldwide, taught over 65+ workshops; and directed over 17+ musical, and stage productions. She has worked with Tara Sutaria, Pia Sutaria, Meher Mistry, Shiamak Davar, Dhawal Chandawadkar, Aditi Paul, Abhilasha Chellam, etc. In 2014, Deirdre was hired as Vocal Director for JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR in India, where she worked with the late Alyque Padamsee.
Deirdre has been teaching ONLINE via her International Vocal Studio since 2010. In 2015, Deirdre founded the Celia Lobo Academy of Voice (CLAV) after her mother CELIA LOBO, India’s ONLY Opera Diva to serve aspiring singers worldwide! In 2020 Deirdre founded One Voice Institute of Music and Art (OVIMA Global), a complete performing arts institute. The Institute serves students globally, offering online, hybrid, and in-person Non-Certification, and Certification courses in all areas of the performing arts.
